Please clarify what exactly is involved in this exploit. My corp lives soley on battleship loot sales and battleship bounty from running battleship chains in 0.0 space. We CIRTAINLY don't want to be banned, and up until this moment I was under the impression that this was an intentional (and important) part of the game. For a while there after launch it was the only content in the game . We all thought (the player population) that in the game of EVE you could mine, trade, or chain pirates.
The fact of the matter is that if you kill all but 1 pirate and wait a while they will re-pop. If you kill them again they will repop again except this time a little sooner then the last. If you continue to do this they come back faster and faster. Eventually you will have a spawn that if your not VERY CAREFUL, very skilled, and very ready will relieve you of your ship and all your mates ships in no time flat.
At what point exactly do you cease to be a pirate hunter and become an exploiter? When the spawn reaches a cirtain speed are we required to stop to avoid persicution? My corp pre-arranges times for everyone to come online and find a spawn. We meet the spawn in overwhelming force and spend a long time at the keyboard, it gets going pretty fast somtimes.
Your answers (DEVS) in this thread have been ambiguous at best. Please clarify your position to us the players. Please explain what is and what is not exploiting in this situation, because I for one am confused.
By your definition earlier in this thread any player/players with the firepower, knowledge, and skill to maintain a chain for more then a few hours is suddenly exploiting and bannable.
We are going to continue with our plans to chain this weekend in force, using our full resources to gain from the risk we take putting ourselfs infront of a pirate onslaught of that magnitude. We will do just as we have since the game was brand new, out in Venal in our Osprey's, chaining 5x40k geuristas spawns with ion blasters to get the ISK to buy our first Apocalypse. Chaining works the same now as it did then. If its an exploit you've got some banning to do because I've been doing it a few times a week for the past year. It's the only way to get a rush without PVP, period.
